Hengdian World Studios, located in Hengdian county, Dongyang city, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, has been working to provide visitors a novel nighttime experience.
As the world's largest film and TV base, Hengdian World Studios opened to the public in 1996. In recent years, besides being a film and TV production area, the block has been offering performances, immersive role-playing and accommodation for visitors.
At daytime, visitors can explore the film, while at night they can actually "live" in a film.

One nighttime attraction are the film sets recreating Guangzhou and Hong Kong at night.
At 7 pm every day, staff at the "Go inside movies" block recruit visitors to serve as actors on site. Those who sign up will take on a heavier role with special customs, a few lines and specified actions. Other visitors will act as extras.
On the stage, a worker holds a camera and sweeps it across the crowd. Movies are projected onto a white wall nearby, giving everyone the chance to appear in a movie.
In fact, the Guangzhou and Hong Kong streets are where Hengdian World Studios originally started. The streets were built in 1996 for the movie The Opium War directed by Xie Jin. The shooting area then became a popular tourist attraction for visitors, with stores, restaurants, hotels and amusement zones.
