The 2022 Zhejiang Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials Expo and the 15th Pan'an TCM Materials Expo opened in Pan'an county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 11.
The expo included a series of events such as signing ceremonies, launch ceremonies, and matchmaking meetings.
During the event, the digital trading platform for the whole chain of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang province and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Science and Technology Innovation Service Center were officially launched.
In addition, agreements for a total of 13 projects, including the health operation project of the Chinese medicine industry and the improvement and technological development project of Pan'an's TCM industry, were signed.
In order to incentivize more medical enterprises to establish branches and invest in Pan'an, the county will offer awards of up to 1 million yuan ($143,729.45) according to the actual investment amount for the first time.
Pan'an county in Jinhua is known for its rich TCM resources.
The Dapanshan National Nature Reserve in Pan'an is the only national nature reserve in the country that protects the germplasm resources of wild TCM materials. The county is also home to five valuable TCM materials.
Over 90 percent of Zhejiang-produced TCM materials are currently traded in the county. The output value of the county's TCM industry accounts for 59.4 percent of Jinhua's and 9.5 percent of Zhejiang's entire TCM industries. Over 30 percent of locals in the county are working in the industry.
