Dongyang, a county-level city of Jinhua, set up a special fund of 20 million yuan ($2.98 million) to support the recovery of tourism in the city, according to the local bureau of culture, broadcasting, tourism and sports on July 3.
Half of the fund will be used to stimulate the group tour market and encourage Dongyang's travel agencies to promote external marketing and arrange for tour groups to come to the city. Rewards will be given to travel agencies that organize a tour group of up to 500 people for a two-day or three-day trip in Dongyang.
Another half will be given directly to individual tourists. Tourists can enjoy a 15-yuan discount for every 50 yuan in a single order if they buy certain Dongyang tourism products on online travel e-commerce platforms such as Ctrip and Meituan.
All national A-level tourist attractions in Dongyang, including Hengdian World Studios, Huayuan village, Dongyang China Woodcarving City, and Baliwan scenic area, will take part in the event.
Dongyang has also released various measures to ease burdens on culture and tourism enterprises, and a series of activities and coupons for tourism products were introduced to locals.
