Jinhua has long been a center of traditional Chinese medicine, and the area is rich in many medicinal resources.
Natural reserves such as those in the mountains of Dapan, Niutou, and Nanshan host a number of these resources. Out of the eight kinds of Chinese medicine in Zhejiang, five are mainly produced in Pan'an county.
Jinhua not only has a traditional Chinese medicine trading market, but also forms the Wu Bawei - eight herbs with Jinhua's geographical characteristics.
According to the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Zhejiang Province issued in 2021, the Danxi School and Jinhua Huangshi Orthopedics Department in Jinhua have been included in the list of famous schools of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang and have become key development targets.
At the same time, Jinhua Shengli Street - the characteristic block of traditional Chinese medicine - has also been included in the development of traditional Chinese medicine in the province.
Over the last few years, Pan'an county has relied on the abundant resources of Chinese medicinal materials and the construction of "Jiangnan Medicine" as a platform.
The county focused on the high-quality development and digital transformation of the Chinese medical industry in order to create new industry models. All these have helped in shaping Zhejiang medicine technology into a key R&D base for TCM talent nationwide, and continued to lay the foundation for the preservation and promotion of Zhejiang's medicinal technology.
