Import and export value in Jinhua exceeds 500 billion yuan

The total import and export volume of Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province reached 536.72 billion yuan ($84.14 billion) from January to November this year, a year-on-year increase of 20.5 percent, according to statistics from Jinhua Customs.

Both exports and imports exceeded last year's total. Total exports reached 487.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3 percent, while imports reached 48.89 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 120.6 percent.

In November, Jinhua's import and export volume reached 63.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 46.7 percent. Imports totaled a record monthly high of 6.69 billion yuan, up 102.2 percent. 

There has been a dramatic growth in Jinhua's foreign trade in the past two decades. From 2001 to 2020, the city's total foreign trade value increased by 69.7 times and had an average annual growth rate of 25.1 percent, 10.9 percentage points higher than the province's.

From January to November this year, foreign-invested and private enterprises also saw good results in foreign trade, with the total import and export volume of foreign-invested enterprises increasing by 24.8 percent. Specifically, imports increased by 133.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the import and export volume of private enterprises reached 525.17 billion yuan, accounting for 97.8 percent of the city's total.
