Wuyi county in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province has been speeding up its agricultural development via digital transformation to promote rural revitalization.

For example, with the support of the local financial department, automated intelligent greenhouses have been set up at the Wuyi Shouxiangu medicinal material planting base that cultivates traditional Chinese medicine such as lucid ganoderma and dendrobium officinale.

The automated intelligent greenhouses leverage sensors, video monitoring systems, big data technology to increase production and reduce labor costs associated with planting lucid ganoderma.

Compared with traditional greenhouses, the intelligent greenhouses can produce 270 kilograms more lucid ganoderma and generate 21,600 yuan ($3380) in additional income. The yield of spore powder has also increased by 166.25 kilograms per mu (666.67 square meters), resulting in a 74,800-yuan increase in income. The average labor cost per mu has been reduced by 65.7 percent.

In addition, the county applies big data technology to production and operation processes such as quality and safety supervision of agricultural products, and uses the IoT technology for the production, processing, circulation and sales of agricultural products.

A person in charge of the local financial department said that the county will fully tap the potential of the digital economy to carry out rural revitalization and promote good practices.
