Located in the Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, Daita Supply Chain Management Co Ltd delivered more than 300,000 orders on Dec 12. Its sales of imported pet food accounted for more than 70 percent of the total imported pet food sales in East China.

Daita is mainly engaged in cross-border e-commerce and sells dog food, cat food, pet snacks and pet milk powder imported from the United States and Canada.

Due to Jinhua's preferential policies, favorable trade environment and low logistical costs, Daita has managed to grow steadily since its inception in 2019 and expand its warehouse from the original 10,000 square meters to the current 100,000 sq m.

"At present, pet food, copper and nuts are the top three best-selling products in the free trade zone. The sales volume of imported pet food in the zone is the highest in China," said Fang Yage, head of the operation management department of the Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

As of the end of November, the total import and export volume of the Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone this year reached $6.63 billion. As of Nov 12, the volume of express delivery in Jinhua this year exceeded 10 billion pieces, becoming the first city in China to set this record.

The prosperity of e-commerce and express delivery industries has boosted employment and incomes. For example, Daita's pet food warehouse has hired over 400 people who earn salaries that are considerably higher than the average wage level.
