2 Jinhua writers win intl children’s literature awards

Shengye and Tangtang, two writers from Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, received awards at the 33rd Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award ceremony in Shanghai on Dec 8.

The Chen Bochui International Children's Literature Award was set up to honor writers, illustrators and related professionals who have made outstanding achievements and contributions to children's literature in China and around the world.

Shengye (Zhou Dakang), a 100-year-old poet, won the award for his unique contributions. Born in 1922, Shengye has been writing poetry for about 80 years. He has published more than 60 books of poetry for children, such as Welcome Drizzle and Magic Window, which are bursting with creativity.

Green Pearl, written by Tangtang, was awarded as one of the best literary works. The fairy tale tells a story of redemption, forgiveness and acceptance between human beings and lvdili (the representative of nature) in the green pearl forest.
