Three Hengdian films nominated for Golden Rooster Awards

Three films, My Sister, Hi, Mom, and A Little Red Flower, produced by Zhejiang Hengdian Film Co Ltd racked up 13 Golden Rooster Award nominations, local media reported on Dec 1.

Founded in 1981, the Golden Rooster Award is an authoritative and renowned professional film award on the Chinese mainland.

My Sister tells the story of a young woman in her early 20s who loses her parents and is then faced with the choice of pursuing her independent life or raising her little brother.

This film received six nominations, including best feature film, best actress (Zhang Zifeng), best supporting actor (Xiao Yang), best supporting actress (Zhu Yuanyuan), best sound recording (Zhou Lei, Wu Lei), and best music (Gao Xiaoyang).

A Little Red Flower tells the story of two young people battling cancer. It received four nominations, including best director (Han Yan), best actor (Yi Yangqianyi), best actress (Liu Haochun), and best cinematography (Zhong Rui).

Hi, Mom is a fantasy comedy film that tells the story of a girl who just entered college accidentally travels back in time and befriends her mother. It received three nominations, including best debut director (Jia Ling), best actress (Zhang Xiaofei), and best supporting actress (Liu Jia).

The 2021 China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province from Dec 28 to 30.
