The Jinhua production and service-oriented logistics hub built by the East China's International Combined Transport Hub in Zhejiang province was elected to build itself into a national logistics hub, according to reports released by the National Development and Reform Commission on Nov 29.

The national logistics hub is expected to play an important role in the national logistics network with wider coverage area, better services, and higher efficiency.

Jinhua is the only city to operate China-Europe trains in Zhejiang province. However, Jinhuanan Railway Station has limited space and its freight capacity has become saturated.

As of this year, 592 China-Europe trains have been launched, a year-on-year increase of 60 percent, among which the return trains account for 43 percent of the total trains. There have also been 411 trains running in the sea-rail combined transport mode, a year-on-year increase of 21 percent.

Located between Dongxiao district and Tangya town, the East China's International Combined Transport Hub covers an area of 880 hectares. It was established to utilize Jinhua's geographic advantages, striving to build itself into the center for distribution, trading, and delivery of bulk commodities in the Yangtze River Delta.

Moving forward, Jinhua will continue to push forward the subsequent construction of the East China's International Combined Transport Hub, which will promote regional economic development.
