The Zhejiang Wuju Opera Art Research Institute (Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe) in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province was designated a national outstanding cultural organization, the sixth time that the Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe has won the honor of national advanced unit.

It was the first time that both the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has elected cultural and tourism system advanced units.

To date, the Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe has participated in more than 20 high-level artistic performances, including the China Media Group Spring Festival Gala Evening, the Asian Cultural Carnival, as well as the New Year's Opera Party.

Since it was founded in 1956, the Zhejiang Wuju Opera Art Research Institute has been dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Wuju opera, collecting and recording more than 500 plays, as well as over 1,000 traditional opera singing methods and specific tunes.

In September, the China Theatre Association called on theatrical circles to learn from the Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe.
