Jinhua's nine-month GDP growth rate tops province

In the first three quarters of the year, the total GDP of Jinhua – a prefecture-level city in East China's Zhejiang province – came in at 383.87 billion yuan ($60.14 billion) with a growth rate of 12.1 percent, ranking it top of the province, according to the data released by the city's bureau of statistics. 

The added value of the city's enterprises above designated size – those with annual main business revenue of above 20 million yuan – hit 84.78 billion yuan, up 25.8 percent. This was 9.2 percentage points higher than the provincial growth rate and meant it ranked first in the province for seven consecutive months. 

Fixed asset investment increased by 15.9 percent, 2.8 percentage points higher than the provincial average, ranking it top in the province for two consecutive months.

According to the statistics released by the city's customs, from January to September, the total value of Jinhua's foreign trade reached 416.88 billion yuan, an increase of 16.7 percent. Of that, exports were worth 379.95 billion yuan, up 11.4 percent, while imports hit 36.93 billion yuan, up 126.5 percent, also ranking it first in the province. 

The China-Europe freight train (Yixinou freight train) undertook 1,502 runs and delivered 124,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) – the standard container size – up 67.9 percent year-on-year. 

During the period, the city's express service enterprises handled 8.14 billion envelopes and parcels, up 36.3 percent year-on-year, ranking it first nationwide. Business revenue totaled 22.57 billion yuan, up 16.1 percent year-on-year.
