Carrying 100 twenty-foot equivalent units – TEU standard containers – shipping water dispensers, heaters, snow plows and other daily articles, it will next leave Erenhot Port in North China's Inner Mongolia region and arrive in the Russian capital in 15 days.
Previously, China-Russia freight trains from Jinhua were ad hoc arrangements ordered by big customers, due to the lack of railway capacity and difficulties in getting approval. Small and medium-sized enterprises needed to wait for shipments, which inevitably affected the timeliness and smoothness of export logistics.
In view of the bottlenecks, the Jindong platform of the China-Europe freight train has reportedly made great efforts to transform the China-Russia train services from customized ones to regular ones, further improving rail efficiency.
"The first regular train is mainly for initial promotions and testing. In the future, the route and its frequency can be determined according to the needs of individual customers," said a manger of the Jindong platform.
To ensure its smooth operation, Jinhua customs have established a fast-track channel. Customs staff contact the freight train operators ahead, access the freight train delivery plan in advance and tailor their supervision to the schedule.
They provide a 24/7 customs clearance service and prioritize export checks and the release procedures of freight train goods.
