2021 World Yiwunese Conference held

The 2021 World Yiwunese Conference – themed on "Driven by digital technology, Smooth deal-circulations, Promote common prosperity" – was held on Oct 20 in the county-level city of Yiwu, administered by Jinhua, in East China's Zhejiang province.

Nearly 300 representatives from overseas Chinese businesses, principals of large terminal sales enterprises, big logistics and storage enterprises, major e-commerce platforms, companies producing daily necessities, as well as experts and academics in the field of commerce gathered in Yiwu.

The conference was also held online, with a WeChat mini program especially developed for it. This featured columns for digital conference affairs, conference dynamics, results releases, live conference broadcasts, health declarations and opinion feedback, among other things.

A total of 30 projects focusing on major infrastructure platforms – involving the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the Jinyi Sector of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone and common prosperity promotions – were signed at the conference, with a total investment of more than 33 billion ($5.2 billion). 

In the year to date, Yiwu city has signed off on a total of 91 major new projects, with planned total investment of 109.56 billion yuan. These cover LED photoelectrics, food health, advanced equipment manufacturing, cultural tourism, modern logistics, education, scientific research and other areas.
