Events aim to celebrate CPC centennial while highlighting area's tourism offerings
The 16th China Yiwu Cultural and Tourism Products Trade Fair, titled "Talking about the CPC's 100-year history, common prosperity, beautiful life and beautiful China", kicked off on Saturday in the city of Yiwu, the world's leading small commodities market located in East China's Zhejiang province.
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the exhibition was held at the Yiwu International Expo Center from Sept 25 to Sept 27.
Eight exhibition pavilions were set up, including the themed pavilion, Beautiful China pavilion, Poetry and Painting Zhejiang pavilion, innovative design pavilion, tourism equipment pavilion, tourism commodity pavilion, intangible cultural heritage experience pavilion, and e-sports animation pavilion.
About 1,000 enterprises and institutions from 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities participated in the exhibitions, covering an area of more than 60,000 square meters and more than 3,100 standard booths.
Among them, enterprises and institutions with special decorations have 2,480 booths in this exhibition, accounting for about 80 percent of total booths.
The exhibition scope ranges from tourism products, tourism equipment supplies, tourism vacation food and hotel supplies, to cultural and creative products from intangible cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and consumer cultural products such as office supplies, painting supplies, festive supplies, artistic decorations.
The preface hall of the exhibition is centered on "Red Tourism, Inheriting the Spirit" and "Beautiful Life, Beautiful China" to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the CPC's founding.
The event brings together new technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and virtual reality, bringing to life the CPC's 100-year history. The Red tourism, cultural and creative products were displayed by graphic exhibitions, physical exhibits, expert explanations, and immersive experiences.
Cultural and tourism creative products have shown exemplary innovation and vitality during the event. The special display areas of cultural and tourism creative products from China's provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were set up, attracting a large number of outstanding enterprises such as craftwork company Shanghai Haoli and tourism company Lv Mama.
It also attracted one of the world's biggest bases for producing decorative picture and photo frames, Huahong, as well as many internet celebrity products such as cultural and creative ice cream.
The digital transformation of cultural and tourism product market trade was successfully promoted during the event.
There is a digital cultural and tourism exhibition area in the themed pavilion, highlighting the latest achievements of government digitalization, tourism informatization and smart cultural tourism.
Cultural and tourism achievements of Zhejiang's high-quality development and the construction of demonstration zone for common prosperity were on display in the exhibition. Based on the supply and consumption of cultural and tourism products, new rural culture and tourism formats such as Red tourism, research tourism, exhibition tourism, health tourism and parent-child tourism were largely promoted to implement common prosperity among 11 cities in Zhejiang province.
The online platforms established trade channels for visiting, negotiating and selling, while offline events provided simultaneous live broadcasts to effectively release the supply and demand information. The shared live broadcast room was set up in the Beautiful China pavilion, which invited internet celebrities to participate in some icebreaking activities. Online platforms such as TikTok, Kuaishou, and CCTV+ synchronously broadcasted the event live and the exhibition also cooperated with other platforms such as Baidu and Tencent.
During the exhibition, a series of festivals and competitions have been held to stimulate cultural and tourism consumption. The latest and most creative tourism products in China have been selected out for display in the 2021 China Tourism Commodities Competition sponsored by the China Tourism Association during the exhibition.
Visitors can also feel the atmosphere of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in advance as e-sports of ice and snow, curling and VR skiing can be experienced in the exhibition. In the themed pavilion, tourists can travel in the wonderful city built by Institute for Culture Creativity of Tsinghua University to discover urban cultural tourism trends of the future.
Yiwu will adhere to its development experience and build a model city for world-class business, forging successful cases of common prosperity with digital reform, and courageously moving forward towards the ultimate goal of building an international city of small commodities with higher quality and higher level. That's according to Luo Xiaojun, deputy mayor of Yiwu, who made her remarks at a press conference on Sept 24.
"We will pay more attention to digital reform, integration of culture and tourism, serving common prosperity, further enhancing the level of digitization," said Lin Yi, member of the standing committee of CPC Jinhua committee and Party secretary of CPC Yiwu committee, at the opening ceremony on Sept 25.
"We will also prioritize marketization, specialization, and internationalization, and accelerate the construction of the platform for national cultural and tourism product exhibitions, trade negotiations, and information release to promote the innovation of culture and tourism in our country."
