Jinyi New Area located in Jinhua, in East China's Zhejiang province, held a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug 30.
The event was for 16 projects with a total investment of 7.13 billion yuan ($1.1 billion), the Jinhua Daily reported.
The projects covered intelligent manufacturing, new building materials, smart logistics, as well as infrastructure and urban construction. They are expected to help the province achieve its goal of building a common prosperity demonstrative zone.
With a total investment of 5 billion yuan, the Zhejiang Longxin Wisdom Industrial Park was among the ventures. It is expected to become a national information technology innovation industrial park, focusing on computer chips, basic hardware and software, integrated circuit boards, information security, internet of things applications and intelligent industry control equipment.
So far this year, the Jinyi New Area has signed off on seven new major industrial projects with a planned investment of 7.84 billion yuan. Nine key projects with a total investment of 3 billion yuan have completed construction and six key projects costing 6.57 billion yuan started operating.
