It's been confirmed that the currently long and taxing rail ride – between Jinhua city in East China's Zhejiang province and Shenzhen city in South China's Guangdong province – will be reduced from more than 14 hours to about six hours, after the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway starts operating before the end of this year.
After the high-speed railway is opened, the railway department will extend the way to run high-speed trains from Shanghai and Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, directly to Shenzhen. As a result, the travel time between Jinhua and Shenzhen will be shorter.
With a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the high-speed railway is expected to tighten the ties between Jinhua and the cities in the Pearl River Delta.
According to 12306 – China's official railway ticket-booking platform – there are only two K-labeled trains per day between Jinhua and Shenzhen, each taking more than 14.5 hours.
