At present, Jinhua city – in East China's Zhejiang province – has formed 18 industrial clusters with an annual output value of more than 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) each, including Yongkang hardware manufacturing, Lanxi textile and garments, Yiwu commodities, Dongyang magnetic materials and Pujiang crystal.
To top it off, it is home to more than 20 national industrial bases. Among its key industrial clusters, the output value of three major industries – including metal products, textiles and automobile manufacturing – all exceed 30 billion yuan. The industrial output of eight key subsectors – such as smart door locks, optical electronics and power tools – accounts for about half the city's total industrial output each year.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Jinhua plans to focus on developing five advanced manufacturing industries: new energy and intelligent network automobiles, optoelectronics, biological medicine, smart equipment and fashion.
It will also focus on the five major modern service industries of trade logistics, digital services, sci-tech finance, film and television culture, as well as health and rehabilitation tourism.
The city is also planning the layout of future industries to form a 5+5+x industrial structure.
