The Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Zhejiang College was founded in 2008 by the local government of Jinhua – a prefecture-level city located in East China's Zhejiang province – and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, or SUFE.
The college was set up with the aspiration of enhancing the level of public education, as well as teaching and training top economics and finance students.
The campus of SUFE Zhejiang College is located in the cultural and historical city of Jinhua. The college is on a site covering about 553,000 square meters, with its buildings occupying total floor space of about 210,000 sq m.
There are 31 professional laboratories and 39 practice teaching bases. It is reportedly a modern and replete campus that offers an ideal place for living, study and work.
At present, the college has six departments – statistics, finance, accounting, business administration, economics and information management and foreign languages.
As of April 15, the college was home to more than 7,300 undergraduates and over 400 staff members, more than 70 percent of whom have a master's degree or above. The school also employs more than 50 part-time professors from SUFE, Zhejiang University, Fudan University and Xiamen University, among others.
In order to aid the teaching staff in reaching the goal of quality education for every student, the school offers a variety of resources including psychologists, counselors and nurses.
The college also reportedly enjoys a positive working relationship with surrounding public entities – in an effort to maximize its resources and provide the best environment possible for its staff and students.
