Maple Leaf International School – Zhejiang includes a kindergarten, a primary school, a middle school, and a foreign students' school. It was built through cooperation between Yiwu, a county-level city administered by Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province, and Maple Leaf Educational Systems, or MLES.
The school is located in Taxiazhou community in Yiwu, covering an area of more than 5.33 hectares. The school was officially opened on Sept 1, 2015 and there are currently 1,100 students enrolled there, including more than 180 foreign students from 26 countries such as Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, the United States, Mexico, South Africa, Syria, and India.
The school has more than 160 staff members, including nearly 30 foreign teachers from Canada, South Africa, Jamaica, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
MLES opened its first school in Dalian, China in 1995 with 14 students.
Today, MLES operates 114 schools from preschool to high school in more than 25 cities throughout China, three in Canada, one in Australia, one in Malaysia, and one in Singapore, serving over 45,500 students in total.
