Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province is set to launch an international legal services zone in the Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Tide News reported on March 4.

The "Jiaxing International Legal Services Zone" will serve as a comprehensive legal hub. Its strategic location within the Yangtze River Delta region will help provide specialized services for businesses operating in China and abroad.

Jiaxing's economy is heavily export-driven, with foreign trade dependency exceeding 60 percent. Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, home to over 770 foreign-invested enterprises from 45 countries and regions, has become a magnet for global business. This influx of international investment has created a growing demand for legal expertise in areas such as trade compliance, intellectual property, and cross-border dispute resolution.

The zone will be developed in three phases: infrastructure construction will begin in 2025, followed by the expansion of legal services by 2026, with the goal of becoming a nationally recognized legal hub by 2030. The area will integrate legal, tax, accounting, and intellectual property services.

Local government authorities see the initiative as a catalyst for strengthening legal talent, enhancing the city's business environment, and facilitating global trade and investment. By attracting high-end legal and financial resources, the zone is expected to boost Jiaxing's business climate and elevate its status as a global business destination.
