Jiaxing Port sets record cargo throughput at 141m tons

In 2024, Jiaxing Port saw two personal bests with 153,000 ships entering and departing annually, and a staggering cargo throughput of 141 million metric tons, per the Jiaxing's maritime safety administration.
"As Spring Festival draws near, the production capacities of various enterprises are on the rise, leading to a surge in the port's container volume. This trend sends a positive signal of improvement in foreign trade," said an official from the Jiaxing's maritime safety administration.
Jiaxing has been infusing significant energy into shipping within its jurisdiction through a series of initiatives. These include innovative government services, reinforced navigation assurances, support for port accessibility, and enhanced ship supervision protocols.
To boost operational efficiency for businesses, Jiaxing has implemented a hierarchical and categorized supervision model, leveraging big data analysis for better precision and oversight. This policy has notably reduced operational costs and ship berthing durations for enterprises, reducing the average ship's stay in port by 14 percent.
Jiaxing also plans to implement further practical measures, providing efficient service guarantees to optimize of the business environment further. This strategic approach aims to create a more streamlined and effective logistics channel.
