Trail runners flock to Jiaxing for Qianjiang Trail Race

The 2024 Qianjiang Trail Race kicked off on Nov 17 in Qianjiang village, Huangwan town, Haining, a county-level city of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
Nearly 500 runners from across China, along with international participants from Panama and South Korea, gathered to experience a nature-filled mountain trail adventure. The event featured two routes: a 20-kilometer elite group and a 10-km challenge group.
Participants were able to take in the stunning natural scenery as they raced toward the finish line, passing by landmarks like Tanshanling Ancient Trail and Gaoyang Mountain.
At the Qianjiang Village Family Banquet Center, runners were greeted with local delicacies and professional volunteer services, with treats like radish pancakes, pine flower cakes, pork buns, and juicy oranges all proving popular.
Among the participants were seasoned veterans and newcomers alike. A first-time participant surnamed Xia expressed her excitement despite the muddy conditions, saying, "The beautiful scenery and everyone's enthusiasm made the race worthwhile!"
Chilean runner Varun Lakhyani Harish, participating in the 20-km group, praised the beautiful course and expressed his intention to continue participating in future races in order to further explore and discover the beauty of China.
The Qianjiang Trail Race, a classic event in Huangwan, has been held for four consecutive years. Drawing on the rich local sports resources, it offers a scenic trail running experience while showcasing and promoting Haining's vibrant sports culture.
