April in Haining has brought the second Wisteria Festival celebration to Tianming village.
The event's centerpiece, a stunning Wisteria Flower Corridor, stretches nearly 100 meters. Visitors are enchanted by the purple blooms that drape down like a waterfall, their fragrance enhancing the serene atmosphere.
The festival, organized by Zhejiang Three Lazy Ants Agricultural Development Co Ltd has transformed its cultivation area into a scenic garden since 2018. The event has attracted over 2,000 visitors since opening on April 2, with a peak of 500 in one day during the Qingming Festival holiday.
Adjacent to the corridor, an experience store offers a variety of potted flowers, with daily sales averaging 20,000 yuan ($2,764.11). With over 400 to 500 types of seasonal potted flowers available, visitors can not only purchase plants but also acquire gardening essentials such as soil, pots, and tools.
Tianming Village, known for its flower cultivation, is currently home to seven major flower companies and boasts an annual production value exceeding 100 million yuan.
To promote rural floriculture, the festival includes a flower tea party, inviting experts to share cultivation techniques and discuss industry prospects. Chen Weida, the village's Party secretary, emphasized the festival's role in uniting local businesses and providing economic benefits to farmers.
