The scenic spots and villages in Pinghu, a county-level city of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, welcomed 750,600 visitors and earned 30.5 million yuan ($4.24 million) during the Spring Festival holiday, up 17.23 percent and 16.85 percent, respectively, from 2023.

The Sleepless City, a tourist attraction in the city, saw a peak of over 160,000 visitors in one day and a turnover of more than 14.68 million yuan in seven days. Tourists and residents enjoyed various cultural programs at the site, including iron flower shows, pipa performances, dragon dances, lantern shows, and face-changing performances.

The city's consumer market also flourished during the Spring Festival. Five large-scale supermarkets, including RT-Mart and Freshippo, achieved retail sales of 17.22 million yuan, a 21.09 percent increase from 2023. The two commercial complexes, Wuyue and Yaohan, had an average daily passenger flow volume of about 67,000, a 20 percent increase from 2023, and an average daily revenue of 3.75 million yuan, a 3.5 percent uptick from 2023.

Catering enterprises also saw a surge in sales. Five of them, including Platinum Hanjue Hotel, Sunlake Hotel, and Nanhai Fishing Village, achieved a catering turnover of 10.32 million yuan, a 12.06 percent increase from 2023. Many restaurants were fully booked and had long waiting lines.
