The Hong Kong-registered LNG Jiaxing vessel successfully unloaded 17,500 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Jiaxing on Feb 4, thanks to the efficient support of the Jiaxing Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station.
The vessel completed its operation in two days before heading back out to sea.
The northern Zhejiang region faced a surge in natural gas demand due to the recent extreme weather and winter heating needs. In response, local enterprises urgently increased LNG vessel trips and imported more natural gas to ensure a sufficient and clean energy supply for the people's livelihood.
The Jiaxing Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station quickly devised a special plan and activated its green channel for the LNG vessel, allowing it to clear customs and start unloading as soon as possible.
The LNG terminal in Dushan Port Area of Jiaxing, where the vessel berthed, is a key project for people's livelihood and the only natural gas import facility in the northern Zhejiang region. The LNG unloaded by the vessel can be processed into 25.09 million cubic meters of natural gas, which can meet the gas demand of more than 1 million households for one month.
