The Jiaxing Museum unveiled a collection of Syrian cultural relics, featuring stone tools, bronze wares, statues, and more, for the first time on Jan 18. These are also the first foreign cultural relics exhibited by the museum since its establishment.

The collection consists of 96 items, primarily sourced from Syrian museums such as the National Museum of Damascus, the Aleppo Museum, and the Dayr az Zawr Museum. It spans various categories and periods, ranging from the early Paleolithic era to the 18th century Ottoman period. The exhibition will run until April 18.

Situated at the crossroads of Asia, Africa and Europe, Syria is a country with a rich and lengthy history of civilization. This exhibition showcases the diverse exchange and integration of various civilizations, resulting in a unique cultural heritage.

"This is the first time we have held a foreign cultural relics exhibition. We hope to expand the cultural vision of Jiaxing citizens and fulfill their desire to see foreign cultural relics," stated Chen Kuan, deputy director of the Jiaxing Museum.

He added that the museum may introduce more foreign cultural relics from Russia, Iran, Afghanistan and other countries in the future.
