Xinjiang Boshiran Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Co Ltd recently exported 54 cotton pickers to Uzbekistan, valued at more than 80 million yuan ($11.22 million). This is the largest domestic cotton picker export transaction ever, according to the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation.
Boshiran was introduced to Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region as part of efforts to support Xinjiang's development. In 2021, it gained recognition as a national-level little giant enterprise, a term referring to small and medium-sized enterprises that typically specialize in niche sectors, command high market shares, and boast strong innovative capacity.
The company has developed advanced technologies for cotton pickers, such as automatic control systems and innovative picking heads. It holds 193 independent intellectual property rights, including 12 invention patents.
Boshiran's cotton pickers have undergone rigorous testing and successful market penetration in various countries, including the five Central Asian countries, Turkiye, Egypt, and Brazil.
Previously exported cotton pickers have received positive feedback from local cotton farmers in Uzbekistan, who praised their ease of use.
Uzbekistan is a key country involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and the largest cotton producer in Central Asia. It holds substantial demand for modern agricultural machinery and equipment.
The large-scale export of domestic cotton pickers demonstrates the competitive advantage of China's agricultural machinery manufacturing industry in the global market, said Liu Chen, deputy director of the Xinjiang agricultural machinery promotion station.
