The World Economic Forum (WEF) recently added 21 new members to its global lighthouse network showcasing the world's most advanced factories. Among them, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd's Jiaxing base is the only one in the photovoltaic industry, indicating its leading role in intelligent manufacturing and digitalization.

LONGi established cooperation with Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing in 2019. In 2020, it launched its 7-gigawatt high-efficiency module project in Xiuzhou. In 2021, it became the first company in Xiuzhou with sales exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).

Through the efforts of LONGi and other enterprises, Xiuzhou has built a photovoltaic industrial chain ecosystem and increased the district's photovoltaic output value by 274 percent in one year.

The lighthouse factory was jointly selected by the WEF and McKinsey Consulting Company. It represents the highest level of global intelligent manufacturing and digitalization. Since the first selection in 2018, the number of lighthouse factories in the world has reached 153, of which 62 are in China, more than any other country.

The requirements to become a lighthouse factory are very strict, requiring the integration of at least five world-class technological applications.

LONGi's Jiaxing base has adopted more than 30 digital use cases to improve its intelligent manufacturing.

For example, it has developed a real-time AI precise traceability technology based on image features, which is the industry's first patented technology. It can quickly and accurately identify the anomalies and sources of cell strings in the production process. It has also shortened delivery time for its HPBC products by 84 percent with an order full-process visual traceability system.
