Winter redwoods: A wonderland in Jiaxing

chinadaily.com.cn| Updated : Dec 12, 2023

In December, redwoods stand out for their vivid colors as temperatures drop.

The redwood forests in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province are now at their most beautiful. From above, the red patches look like spilled ink, brightening the winter.

Redwood is an endangered and precious tree species native to China, known as a "living fossil" as it has existed since the Cretaceous period.

The redwood alongside the railway near Luyuan community in Honghe town, Xiuzhou district has changed from green to orange to deep red as the temperature drops.

Near Panjiabang village in Xincheng town, Xiuzhou, redwoods along a road also offer stunning views.
