The China Customs magazine, published by the General Administration of Customs, recently released the list of China's top 100 foreign trade cities in 2022. Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province ranked 16th on the list.

The list of China's top 100 foreign trade cities evaluated the foreign trade competitiveness of each city based on five criteria: level, structure, efficiency, development, and potential.

The list revealed that the competitive focus of cities in foreign trade is increasingly influenced by factors such as policies, funds, ports, and talent. These factors are reflected in the potential competitiveness category, which includes indicators such as the number of open ports and platforms, number of new foreign trade enterprises, and amount of foreign capital utilized.

Data showed that in 2022, Jiaxing's total imports and exports were valued at 440 billion yuan ($61.63 billion), an increase of 16.3 percent over 2021. In the first three quarters of this year, the total value of Jiaxing's imports and exports amounted to 331.55 billion yuan.
