Jiaxing company launches waterless dyeing technology
Zhejiang Lyuyu Textile Co Ltd in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, recently introduced low-pressure waterless dyeing technology.
Li Lingshen, vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, said that this is a disruptive invention. It can solve the wastewater problem for China's dyeing industry and help the industry achieve high-quality and sustainable development.
Most dyeing enterprises in China use water dyeing processes, which consume and discharge a lot of water.
Lyuyu Textile spent more than 10 years developing a cost-effective and scalable low-pressure waterless dyeing technology. It reduces water consumption by 99.7 percent, dyeing energy consumption by 21.9 percent, and carbon emissions by 25 percent, produces no wastewater discharge and uses no dyeing salt. It is also strong in terms of applicability, economy and safety.
Wang Jiping, chairman of Lyuyu Textile, explained that this technology dyes fabrics under low pressure, using a medium circulation method and promoting fiber expansion and uniform dyeing. The fabrics are dried by a pressure dryer, and waterless dyeing and zero wastewater discharge are achieved through a special recycling system.
"We are also developing an artificial intelligence operation mode. Using our special liquid dye and auxiliary distribution system, workers can easily make dyeing formulas in the control room and press a button to complete the low-cost waterless dyeing process," added Wang.
This technology has been certified by the Zhejiang Inspection and Quarantine Science and Technology Research Institute and is at the global cutting-edge.
