Jiaxing native among new academicians of 2023

The new academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering were announced on Nov 22.
Researcher Tang Juxing, a second-level researcher, chief scientist, and deputy chief geologist at the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Tang has made outstanding contributions to the exploration and evaluation of solid minerals and the study of regional metallogeny. He has led or participated in several projects in Xizang autonomous region, including the Xiongcun, Jiamu, Ga'erqiong, Dingqinnong, and Qulong deposits, which are rich in copper, gold, and other metals.
He has also won one national and seven provincial and ministerial awards for his achievements, has published many academic papers and patents, and has trained many graduate students.
