The 2023 Jiaxing-Russia Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference took place on Nov 15, aiming to promote China-Russia economic and trade cooperation.

More than 300 participants, including representatives from Ozon (China), Crocus Expo, Transit LLC, the Russian Friendship Bridge Youth Creativity Foundation, and Russian buyers, as well as relevant departments, service agencies, trade associations, markets, and foreign trade enterprises of Jiaxing, attended the event.

During the conference, the Jiaxing Market Expansion Alliance for the Belt and Road Initiative (Russia) was officially established and several enterprises signed procurement contracts worth 380 million yuan ($52.37 million).

The Jiaxing Russia Business Law and Intellectual Property Overseas Service Station was also unveiled, providing legal and intellectual property protection for Jiaxing enterprises to expand overseas.

More than 180 Jiaxing enterprises participated in the procurement docking meeting during the conference, covering industries such as luggage, home textiles, sweaters, down jackets, fasteners and auto parts. There were also 30 Russian buyers who expressed intent to purchase about $31 million worth of products.

Alexander, a Russian buyer and sweater maker, was impressed by the quality and price of Jiaxing sweaters and hoped to establish long-term cooperation with Jiaxing enterprises.

Jiaxing has deepened its economic and trade cooperation with Russia this year, and its trade with Russia grew rapidly from January to September, with exports reaching 6.5 billion yuan, an increase of 19.6 percent year-on-year, and imports reaching 1.6 billion yuan, a surge of 77.5 percent.
