WIC Wuzhen Summit achieves zero-carbon meeting for first time
The 2023 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit will soon begin, and its venues will use advanced technologies such as big data, 5G, and artificial intelligence to host a greener conference.
With the aim of becoming a zero-carbon meeting, the electricity consumption in Wuzhen Scenic Area during the summit will have a completely green power supply. The green electricity comes from photovoltaic power in Qinghai and Gansu and wind power in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and the Zhejiang coast.
The new completed World Internet Science and Technology Museum in Wuzhen has installed photovoltaic panels on its roof, which can provide enough electricity for its daily lighting.
The staff of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co Ltd will also customize the best power consumption mode for venues according to their differing needs, reducing unnecessary power consumption.
State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co Ltd also deployed intelligent mobile charging robots to Wuzhen, improving the efficiency of charging services. The intelligent mobile charging robot is like a super portable charger. In a fully charged state, it can meet the charging needs of four to five new energy vehicles.
During the Wuzhen Summit, the green electricity supply in Wuzhen Xizha Scenic Area and related venues is expected to exceed 500,000 kilowatt-hours, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 400 metric tons.
