Faces of the Games | Jiaxing athletes ready for Asian Games
Jiaxing athletes are gearing up for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which will be held from Sept 23 to Oct 8.
This year's Asian Games features 40 competition events, including 31 Olympic events and nine non-Olympic events. E-sports and breaking are being included as competition items for the first time this year.
Jiaxing athletes will compete in beach volleyball, weightlifting, canoeing, dragon boat racing, chess and more.
Wang Fan, Pei Xinyi, Li Dongmin, Shi Yingying, and Zhu Jiner are among the Jiaxing contestants.
Wang Fan is a beach volleyball player from Jiashan county who won gold in women's beach volleyball at the 18th Asian Games and has participated in many Olympic beach volleyball competitions.
Pei Xinyi is a weightlifter from Haining, a county-level city of Jiaxing, who broke three world youth records at the IWF Weightlifting World Championships last year.
Li Dongmin and Shi Yingying are canoe and dragon boat racers and will represent China in their respective events at the Games.
Zhu Jiner, an international chess player, was shortlisted for both the women's team and individual chess events at the Games.
These Jiaxing athletes are determined to forge ahead and have called on everyone to work together to support this grand event and be good hosts.
