Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province was ranked 25th in the country in attracting workers that are part of the post-1995 generation, according to the latest report released by Zhaopin, an online recruitment platform.
The number of workers in the post-1995 generation labor force reached nearly 200 million last year in China, accounting for 22.7 percent of the country's total labor force, the report said.
Those born after 1995 are swiftly moving out of third- and fourth-tier cities to first- and second-tier cities, with the Yangtze River Delta region being greatly attractive to these young talents.
Jiaxing has consistently attached great importance to the role of talents in promoting its high quality development.
To attract high-profile professionals around the world, Jiaxing has rolled out a series of policies and organized various activities, including entrepreneurship competitions and talent exchange conferences.
Jiaxing is the first city in Zhejiang to host "Talent Day" and it designated May 18 Jiaxing Talent Day this year to pay tribute to professionals in the city.
To offer local talents more convenient services, Jiaxing has launched an online platform, which provides more than 50 administrative services and numerous special offers from nearly 100 local scenic spots, catering shops, as well as hotels.
Jiaxing has also established startup and innovation platforms where compatible people can display their talents. To date, the city has housed more than 370 such platforms, including the Yangtze Delta Region Research Institute of Tsinghua University and the Nanhu Lake Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.
