Jiaxing Kaiyi Hospital, the first foreign-invested third-level general hospital in Jiaxing, opened to the public on Oct 23, local media reported.

With an investment of $220 million, Jiaxing Kaiyi Hospital was jointly founded and established by the Jiaxing Economic Development Zone and Columbia China.

The hospital has 500 beds, 10 operating rooms, six delivery rooms, and two angiography rooms with complete facilities.

It also has eight medical centers exclusively for health management, female health management, minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy, tumors, multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment, heart and cerebral vessels, and hemodialysis.

Bilingual service and commercial insurance claims are available at the hospital and patients can also use their health insurance cards to pay their medical expenses.

Kaiyi signed cooperation agreements with Tongji Zhejiang College in Jiaxing and Jiaxing Taiwan Businessmen Association respectively at the opening ceremony to construct a base for talent cultivation and scientific innovation as well as to offer a more convenient and comfortable medical environment to Taiwan people living and working in Jiaxing.

The hospital also donated 100,000 yuan ($16,000) to the Zhejiang Foundation for Disabled Persons to support poverty-stricken disabled people with serious diseases.
