Pet food made in Jiaxing has been warmly received in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative in recent years.

Statistics show that in the first eight months of the year, the areas regulated by Jiaxing Customs exported more than 30,000 metric tons of pet food to BRI countries and regions, a year-on-year increase of 35 percent.

Compared with the export of traditional agricultural products, pet food exports have low risk, low environmental pollution and high added value.

To facilitate local pet food exports, Jiaxing Customs has adopted numerous measures to guarantee product quality.

Under the guidance of officials from Jiaxing Customs, Perfect Companion (China) Co Ltd has set up an automated system to check raw materials and finished products, according to Bian Jiangtao, manager of the quality control department.

Bian added that the company's export volume has increased by more than 30 percent annually over the past five years and its products are currently available in 11 BRI countries and regions.
