The sixth Haining Entrepreneur Convention was held in Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 28.
A total of 350 Haining-born entrepreneurs were invited to share their suggestions on the further development of the city.
Haining secured 38 projects worth 38.7 billion yuan ($5.98 billion) at the event, including 11 foreign-invested projects worth $1.08 billion.
The Haichuangtou Fund, which was set up by five listed companies in Haining and Zhejiang Equity Service Group, was launched on the same day and raised 700 million yuan.
The fund is expected to assist local companies going public and help the city introduce more projects involving semi-conductor, life sciences and health, aerospace, and artificial intelligence.
Haining's GDP currently stands at 100 billion yuan, placing it 17th on the latest list of top 100 counties in China.
By 2025, Haining's GDP will exceed 160 billion yuan, the output of its industries above designated size will amount to 330 billion yuan and it will house more than 33 listed companies, said Cao Guoliang, Party secretary of Haining, at the convention.
Cao added that the city will build a fashion industry worth 100 billion yuan, four industries involving semi-conductor, high-end equipment, photovoltaic energy, and new materials, with each worth 50 billion yuan, as well as two industries worth 10 billion yuan involving life science and health and aerospace.
The previous five editions of the Haining Entrepreneur Convention brought in more than 190 projects worth nearly 160 billion yuan to the city.
