Jiaxing partners with Shanghai Hongqiao CBD

The Jiaxing municipal people's government and the administrative committee of Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Sept 22 in Jiaxing at a promotion conference on the joint development of Hongqiao International Hub by Zhejiang province.
According to the agreement, the two sides will work together to build a headquarters economy gathering zone and attract more private companies to move their headquarters into Hongqiao International Hub.
Jiaxing and Hongqiao CBD will make full use of their own advantages to cooperate in economy and trade, as well as encourage local companies that plan to expand their presence to start operating in Jiaxing or Hongqiao CBD.
The two places will further their cooperation in culture and tourism by attracting more renowned exhibitions, conventions, performances, as well as sports events. They will also strengthen exchanges in education and medical care.
Jiaxing Air Transport Center will deepen its cooperation with Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport by establishing a virtual terminal of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, which allows passengers in Jiaxing to check in ahead for their flights at the Shanghai airport.
Jiaxing and Hongqiao CBD will also enhance data sharing about airports and seaports to optimize the allocation of freight and passenger transportation resources.
Ealier this year, a plan to build Shanghai's Hongqiao area and neighboring locations into an international hub was published and approved by the State Council.
The planned Hongqiao International Hub will include the 151-square-kilometer Hongqiao Central Business District, which is located in west Shanghai, as well as two extended strips, with one going northward to Suzhou, Jiangsu province and the other going southward to Haining, Jiaxing.
According to the plan, the area will be fully constructed by 2035 and become an important platform that raises the country's level of opening-up and international competitiveness.
