Water bus coming to Jiaxing

The Xincheng River route, one of the 11 water bus routes in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, will open to traffic soon, local media reported on Aug 25.
The route starts at Urban Hall in Xincheng town, Xiuzhou district and ends in Jiulihui, Xiuzhou district, spanning a total length of 7.1 kilometers. A single trip takes about one hour.
Two painted pleasure boats will operate along the route, each with 24 seats. Six trips will be offered every day from Monday to Friday, while on weekends the number will be increased to 10.
During trial operations, local residents and visitors alike are welcome to take the boats free of charge.
The 11 water bus routes are expected to connect residential districts, commercial areas and scenic areas in Jiaxing, creating a unique water transportation system.
The routes are expected to extend 100 km in total, and will pass by 24 wharfs and two water transport service centers.
Individuals who wish to use the boats for sightseeing are required to make reservations in advance after official operations begin.
