The 14.19 billion-yuan ($2.03 billion) railway spans 48.1 kilometers and includes 12 stations, starting at the Yuhang High-speed Station in Hangzhou and terminating at the International Campus of Zhejiang University Station in Haining.
The logo for the railway consists of a red oval and a white "H", representing the integration of Hangzhou and Haining.
The train that operates on the railway is 80 meters long, 2.88 meters wide, and 3.8 meters tall and weighs 140 tons, according to its manufacturer Nanjing CRRC Puzhen Co Ltd.
The 182-seat train consists of four carriages capable of accommodating up to 1,100 passengers and is able to run at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
The interior of the train is mostly white, and the grab poles combine curves and straight lines, resembling the famous Qianjiang Tide in Haining county.
In June of next year, the Hangzhou-Haining intercity railway will start trial operations.
