A spectacular celebration is set to take place at Jiazhi Old Street in Jiaojiang district, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, on Dec 31, to welcome the new year.

The stage will come alive at 7 pm with a dazzling display of Chinese cultural performances. From the graceful movements of Yueju opera to marvelous magic shows and a melodious folk music duet, audiences will be treated to a rich tapestry of artistry and culture.

Lion dances, acrobatics, and other fantastic performances will be staged, promising a visual and auditory feast for all attendees.

Food enthusiasts will find their taste buds tantalized by a range of delectable treats that blend both flavor and tradition, such as sugar paintings, sugar-fried chestnuts, and roasted sweet potatoes. There will also be intangible heritage crafts on offer like aluminum wire weaving and paper cuttings.

For those seeking a moment of tranquility, there will be places near the fireplace to boil and taste tea. Starting at 2 pm, visitors can enjoy a warm cup of tea alongside friends, savoring the simple joys of winter.

Visitors will also be able to participate in games like cuju (ancient Chinese soccer) and pitch-pot for the chance to receive a commemorative gift from the organizing committee.
