A batch of boxing gloves, sports towels, and sandbags produced by Zhejiang Kinger Sporting Goods Manufacturing Co in Sanmen county, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, was recently shipped to European clients.

Despite boxing being a niche sport compared to mainstream activities like badminton and basketball, the company has carved a unique path in the industry. Over two decades of exploration and development have elevated it to a leading position in the national boxing equipment sector.

Its annual production capacity includes 350,000 sandbags, 180,000 pairs of boxing gloves, and 1.6 million sports towels.

The company makes use of an innovative cost-saving technique — using scrap materials from automotive interior parts as fillers for sandbags. This environmentally conscious practice has not only enhanced their competitiveness but also garnered acclaim in overseas markets.

Sanmen's thriving car interior parts industry, with nearly 20 related enterprises, generates substantial scrap material during production.

The recycled scraps undergo strict screening and inspection before becoming filling material to meet the export standards of Europe and North America. "If an average of 100,000 sandbags are produced annually, thousands of metric tons of scraps can be consumed," said an employee at the company.

Higher Group, an automotive interior parts enterprise in Sanmen and a long-time partner of Kinger, produces over 1,300 tons of scrap material annually. This eco-friendly approach has reduced its costs and saved resources.

"After processing, the scrap materials are transformed into fillers for sandbags. Kinger Company and Higher Group are working together to address the challenge of industrial solid waste, alleviating environmental pressure," said Chen Liang, an official of the Sanmen Economic Development Zone.
