A delegation of German enterprises including Siemens, Aquatherm, and Fiege Logistics, visited Taizhou for an exchange event held in the Yuhuan Economic Development Zone from Oct 9 to 10.

The event aimed to foster technological collaboration between German and Taizhou enterprises and explore new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.

"Taizhou's machine tool industry is fascinating. This visit to Yuhuan is a great opportunity to communicate with local enterprises. I'll be back for the Yuhuan Machine Tool Exhibition next weekend," said Cao Zheng, general manager of Lenord + Bauer Automation Technology (Shanghai) Co.

Taizhou is a hub of the private sector and manufacturing in the Yangtze River Delta region, and has strong economic ties with Germany, which is its fifth-largest export destination and sixth-largest import source. Taizhou was among the first cities to join the Sino-German Industrial City Alliance established in 2016.

Over the years, Taizhou and German manufacturing firms have made notable collaborations. The German high-end kitchenware brand WMF established its core research and development and production base in Yuhuan, while Taizhou's Huahai Pharmaceutical and Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical Co have research and development centers in Germany.
