Taizhou sees 3.31 million tourists during National Day holiday

Taizhou welcomed 3.31 million tourists from Oct 1 to 7, marking a 6.05 percent increase compared to last year, while the number staying overnight was up 7.82 percent to 1.87 million, according to data from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism.
Just over half of the visitors were born in the 1990s or 2000s, becoming the lion's share of National Day travelers.
Around 57 percent of the tourists were from within the province, primarily from Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Shaoxing. Visitors from the Yangtze River Delta region made up 84 percent of the tourists from outside the province, including 20 percent from Shanghai.
The Ancient City of Taizhou Cultural Scenic Area, which is located in the county-level city of Linhai, Taizhou, became the nation's busiest 5A ancient town with over 188,000 visitors on Oct 1. The area hosted over 500 cultural and tourism activities and themed experiences.
In Tiantai county, fresh performances took place alongside classic sites like ancient temples, famous mountains, and waterfalls, and Chinese traditional art performances on Zhexi Ancient Street lit up the night.
In Xianju county, topics related to the Shenxianju scenic area reached 2 billion online views.
The culinary scene also thrived, with six themed exhibition areas featuring 183 stalls offering thousands of delicacies. Visitation exceeded 700,000, with sales surpassing 8 million yuan ($1.13 million) and related topics garnering nearly 10 million views online.
