Taizhou Port's cargo throughput up 25.1% in H1

Print PrintThe shipping industry of Taizhou, Zhejiang province, is currently experiencing a surge in traffic. In the first half of the year, Taizhou Port handled over 41.54 million metric tons of cargo and 410,100 TEUs of containers, remarkable increases of 25.1 percent and 15.11 percent year-on-year, respectively, positioning it as the leading coastal port in the province in terms of growth rate.
Taizhou Port has been optimizing its route layout and bolstering cargo shipping through multimodal transport. It has expedited the development of international logistics channels, introducing additional ocean vessels directly to major destinations like Europe and North America.
A new foreign trade container shipping route to Thailand was launched in the first quarter, bringing Taizhou Port's total number of container shipping routes to 10.
To keep pace with increasing business activity in the Toumen Port area, Taizhou Port Co has made the port area's gates more high-tech, analyzing the operating environment of incoming vehicles and adjusting camera angles to identify the vehicle numbers of different bulk cargo vehicles.
Taizhou Port has also established the province's first intelligent bulk cargo gate system and eight smart operational systems, leading to a 40 percent increase in the efficiency of containers' gating in and out and nearly a 20 percent increase in average bulk cargo berthing efficiency.
