Print PrintAn industrial supply and demand docking meeting for the low-altitude economy recently took place in Taizhou Bay New Area in Taizhou, Zhejiang province. Experts from across the nation gathered to discuss the future development of the city's low-altitude economy.
Outside the venue, a display area for small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) parts was set up to offer participating companies valuable cooperation opportunities. Zhejiang Wenxin Mechanical & Electrical Co successfully identified several partners capable of enhancing the performance of its plant protection UAV.
As a leading enterprise in Taizhou specializing in power sprayers and high-pressure plant protection machinery, the company has ventured into the low-altitude economy in recent years. After over a year of research and development, the plant protection UAV has entered small-scale production.
Equipped with a 360-degree obstacle avoidance system, the UAV boasts significantly improved safety performance, as Li Jun, the company's technical director, highlighted. Its waterproofing and structural stability have also been notably enhanced.
Taizhou took the pioneering step in 2016 by suggesting the UAV industry be designated as a leading characteristic industry. After over eight years of efforts, Taizhou Bay New Area is now home to 78 enterprises throughout the low-altitude economic industrial chain, with a low-altitude economic industrial park spanning 390,000 square meters.
The abundance of UAV resources in Taizhou is helping local companies get involved in the low-altitude economy more easily. Zhejiang Huarong Aviation Equipment Co, specializing in the production of aerospace components, is seizing the opportunity to make strides in the UAV and manned aircraft sectors.
"We plan to develop small and medium-sized aircraft accommodating 2-3 individuals for flights below 200 meters," said Cai Xirong, head of the company.
