Wang Chang, born in Xianju county in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, was included on the list of athletes bound for the Paris Olympics, as announced by the Chinese Badminton Association on May 22.

The badminton competition of the Paris Olympics will take place from July 27 to Aug 5 in Paris, France. During the Tokyo Olympics, the Chinese badminton team won two gold and four silver medals. The team has secured full participation in all events in this year's Olympics.

Wang has previously won numerous titles at world-class badminton open tournaments. In 2021, he represented the Zhejiang team at the 14th National Games and claimed the men's doubles championship, ending a 28-year drought for the province's team in this category.

At the 19th Asian Games, Wang also clinched gold medals with his team, becoming the first athlete born in Xianju to win gold at the Asian Games.
